Every young person deserves a place where they feel seen, safe, and valued – and that’s what we’re here to provide.
Our Mission
LGBTQ+ youth are disproportionally represented in the foster care system. As they reach adulthood they face higher rates than their peers of incarceration, drug and alcohol abuse, sex trafficking, homelessness, and attempted suicide. Sanctuary seeks to interrupt this pattern by providing our residents the support, skills, and education needed to break that cycle.
Our mission: To create a safe haven, educate, and empower LGBTQ+ foster youth and allies in an inclusive home as they transition to adulthood.
Started in 2017, Oak Grove Sanctuary Palm Springs provides safe, transitional housing and supportive resources to foster youth who identify as LGBTQ+ as they transition from dependency to independent adulthood at age 18.
Safe Housing and Support Services
Sanctuary is a licensed Transitional Housing Placement Program for Non-Minor Dependents (THPP-NMD), created to support LGBTQ+ youth ages 18–21 as they transition from foster care to independent adulthood.
Our program offers more than just housing—we provide a nurturing, family-style home where each resident has their own private bedroom and is surrounded by care, respect, and encouragement. Sanctuary is a place to heal, grow, and build the foundation for a strong and self-sufficient future.
Your Support Makes a Difference
Oak Grove Sanctuary Palm Springs relies on generous funding and community support to provide life-changing services for LGBTQ+ youth transitioning out of foster care and into independent adulthood.
Your contributions help us offer essential resources like:
Educational support and tutoring
Life skills coaching and job readiness training
Access to mental health and therapeutic services
A safe, affirming home environment
Every donation helps empower a young person with the tools, support, and stability they need to build a brighter future.
Together, we can make independence possible.
“This is the placement that I have stayed at the longest because it feels like home.”
