Safety, Support and Education to Break the Cycle
Our Mission
LGBTQ+ youth are disproportionally represented in the foster care system. As they reach adulthood they face higher rates than their peers of incarceration, drug and alcohol abuse, sex trafficking, homelessness, and attempted suicide. Sanctuary seeks to interrupt this pattern by providing our residents the support, skills, and education needed to break that cycle.
Started in 2017, Oak Grove Sanctuary Palm Springs provides safe, transitional housing and supportive resources to foster youth who identify as LGBTQ+ as they transition from dependency to independent adulthood at age 18.
Safe Housing and Support Services
Sanctuary is a licensed Transitional Housing Placement Program for Non-Minor Dependents designed to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ youth ages 18-21 as they transition into independent adulthood following foster care. The family-style, home environment offers personal bedrooms surrounding the youth with love and support to help them heal, grow and move forward.

Oak Grove Sanctuary Palm Springs depends on funding to provide quality services and support to those we serve - LGBTQ+ youth transitioning out of foster care into independent adulthood. Transportation, educational support, life skill coaching, supportive therapy and more.
